Rodeo Week 2011

Rodeo week....one of my favorite times in the entire year. And I'm so grateful that Toby likes it too:) Makes things much easier. We gathered up the kids and headed to Preston for a fun day full of all the things I used to LOVE to do as a kid. The first thing we did was head to the Sidewalk sale. Elle and Cash had saved their money looking forward to this. Elle had been having a hard time deciding wether she wanted to buy something at the sale or save her money for an outfit for her American girl doll. She was beyong thrilled when as we were walking the sale she saw a whole table full of clothes made just for American girl dolls. She picked out a beautiful pink dress...and Cash was pretty excited about his Pistol Pete bobble head. Then we headed to Connie's for awhile and Toby took the kids on a long four wheeler ride. It was so cute seeing them enjoy doing that because that was always one of my very favorite things to do in Preston. Then we headed to the Parade. I CANNOT believe how much candy they throw out!!! I love the picture of Elle, Cash, Russell, and Jed. I swear Betsey Callie and I have a picture of us wearing those EXACT same hats. After the parade we headed over to the carnival where Toby and I got taken by the carni folk for the first time EVER. Not to worry though...we have it all figured out now so we'll get em next time. I LOVE Preston. With all my Heart. I always thought I'd live there someday but going up a couple times a year will just have to do. Already looking forward to next year:)

First day of 1st Grade

Elle could not have been more excited to start first grade. All I heard about all summer was how excited she was that she gets to eat in the lunchroom and have longer recesses. Why aren't I that excited??!! In fact I'm quite the opposite. For 6 years I've been able to be with my little girl for the majority of the day. Now in one quick moment, in one day, she's gone from me for the majority of the day. She's in school for 8:55 to 3:55. That is so long! Cash and I are doing our best to fill the days with fun and activities. He misses her so much. I do too!!!! We love you Elle. You are one super cute girl.

24th of July

The state of Utah is so lucky because it gets to share it's birthday with my Grandma. We had so much celebrating her birthday up at the farm. My aunts planned a princess party for her. She looked so darling all dressed up like the princess that she is! All the little girls dressed up in their princess dress-ups and we made frog hats for all the little boys who aren't quite princes, seeing as how they haven't kissed their princesses yet. Josh and I spent about an hour in the canal taking turns sending the kids down on the tube. The water was freezing but it didn't matter...they absolutely loved it. I love my Grandma so much...and I know how much she misses my Grandpa. I do too. She is one of a kind and am so grateful for her wonderful example. Happy Birthday Grandma!

Happy 60th Dad!

This was a special birthday for my Dad. The big 6-0! I can't believe how lucky I am to be his daughter. Their isn't a finer father out there. My mom really wanted to do something special for him this year so we put together a book of 60 years of memories. It was a ton of work but SO worth it. We were so excited to give it to him and see the look on his face as he read each one. All he wanted to do for his birthday was take us all to a baseball game so we all headed out to a Bees game and had so much fun. The firework show at the end was good...almost too good for Toby:) We love you so much Dad. Thank you for being the best Grandpa to our grandkids as well. Here's to another 60 years!
