Disney Aulani part 2

Seriously there is so much to do at the resort and hotel itself that there really is no need to leave to go anywhere! But seeing as this was the kids first time we had a few places we wanted to take them around the island so we did rent a car and take them out once in a while. One of the fun places we took them was the swap meet at Aloha stadium. Honestly we've been there when it's been better, but we enjoyed some sweet pineapple and Elle bought a little Hawaiian dress for her American Girl Doll and Cash bought a really cool 3D puzzle of a pirate ship. Good times. The one thing that Elle has DREAMED about and talked about doing if she ever made it to Hawaii was swimming with a dolphin...So of course we had to make that dream come true:) We set up an excursion to a place on the island called Sea Life Park and got Toby Elle and Cash a chance to swim with a dolphin. We tried to not talk negatively about the experience around Elle but honestly the place was so disappointing. Other than being in the water with the dolphins WHICH was the most important part...the rest was so bizarre. Such an unclean place, very little sea life, nothing to really see, AND they would let me get even remotely close to take a picture!! What?!  How do you spend that much money and not get to take pictures?! Such a scam to get us to buy there photos. Boo. And Cash was so cold and scraped his knee up bad right before that I ended up having to CARRY him out of the park to the car. NOT an easy task. BUT it was all SOOO worth it just to see Elle's face playing with that dolphin. Gosh I love that girl. Also Toby's boss was so great to us and wanted us to go out and enjoy a meal on Stryker. So one night we walked (and hitched a ride in a golf cart)  to a place down the street called       and ate a very fancy overpriced meal, but no worries since we didn't pay for it. The rest of the time was pretty much spent playing on the beach, eating at the fun restaurants at Alauni, swimming, going to a luau there and enjoying every second of being together.

Disney Aulani part 1!!!

I can't even begin to describe this trip. Honestly a dream come true for us. Something we've talked about doing for years but thanks to Toby's amazing job was able to make it a reality. Such a hard decision to leave Tate but we really wanted to be able to focus on our two older kids who in the near future aren't going to have as much time and attention from us as we'd love to give them so we thought this would be a special time for the four of us. And it was!!! Seeing their eyes light up getting on an airplane and getting off, driving up to this amazing hotel in HAWAII. All so incredible. We were greeted with Lei's and little hawaiin necklaces and we slept so well we were rested to start off our trip first thing in the morning ready to go. First thing we did was head down to an incredible breakfast right off of the beach. I can't even describe the beauty of this place. Felt like a postcard or even better. The resort was breathtaking. Pools everywhere, playgrounds in water, lazy rivers, water slides, snorkeling, the beach ten steps away, drink stations, food booths, snow cone booths...everything was just right there!! Ah it was amazing and we were all in heaven. Elle and Toby loved the snorkeling although it was just a little too cold for Cash. And in my current condition of constant naseua  I felt like the second I  put that think in my mouth I'd probably lose it. The kids loved seeing the Disney Characters walking around giving the kids high fives and taking pictures. There was also a really neat little kids care place called "Aunties Beach House" that the kids really really enjoyed. They did all sorts of crafts with the kids, played games, sang songs, had snacks, and I loved that Cash and Elle when they were done with the pools (after 6 hours) wanted to go there so Toby and I would relax and read our books at the pools for a bit. All of it was heavenly and this is how we spent our first few days at Disney Aulani!
