Lagoon...Frightmares!

We had been trying to plan a time to go with all of our friends to Lagoon all summer but had just not been able to make our schedules work…so when the stars aligned in October and we could all go we were excited that it also happened to be over Frightmares! Knowing how Tate and Kemp feel about scary masks and monsters we opted to leave them back home with Grandma and Tob and I just took the older two with us. It's always good to get some good one on one time with them. We were able to go on all of the big rides together and run around without a stroller and diaper bag. Not that we prefer that…but just nice once in a while:) It's always a good time to hang with the Stevens and Ashby's too. We love them and loved riding rides and hanging with them. Good memories were made for sure.

Silver Lake

This has been a tradition for some time now. We always go to Silver Lake for the September Birthdays. Used to just be Jamie and Brooklyn and Makaylas, but we added Kemp to the mix so now we celebrate him up there too. It was beautiful up there this year…but it was FREEZING!!! And Toby had a busy week and Sunday that day with his calling so I took the kids and drove up with my parents. It got dark really quick too so next year we'll have to go earlier and maybe dress a bit warmer. But we had a fun picnic and got some great pictures and enjoyed being out in nature.

Kemps Birthday Weekend!!!

This little guy. He is so incredibly special to this family. The baby of the family, our bookend, pretty much the light of our lives that we spoil way too much. He LOVES legos just like his big brothers so we took him to the lego store on Saturday to kick off his birthday weekend. He LOVED is there. He played and played and wanted every box and didn't want to leave. We walked back down the mall tot he build a bear store but ended back down at the lego store. His little voice and his little smile just melts me. We got take out food on the way home and watched a movie together. Sunday was his actual birthday. We all woke him up with the usual breakfast in bed, which consisted of chocolate milk and a donut, and balloons on his ceiling. He just smiled and laughed the whole time. We had all of the Christensen's over after to church to celebrate him! We ate pork salads and birthday cake and then let Kempers open presents. His main present from us was a blow up bounce house!!! I just thought it was the best idea...I knew the kids would love it, especially the two little boys, they would be playing outside, expending energy every time they use it, and then wear them out so much they'll go right to bed! haha. It was a hit just like I thought and they all bounced the night away. We just had the best weekend celebrating him. It's crazy to think it was 3 years ago that we experienced so much trying to get him here safe and sound. I think every year on his birthday it will always bring back so of those emotions and memories and I will always be so grateful for the experience and for the memories. What on earth would we do without him. He is just an answer to so many prayers. We love you to the moon and back Kempers!
