Projects, Projects, Projects...

Help! I'm addicted!!! Thanks to my amazingly talented mother in law I have become addicted to sewing..and more sewing. I can't stop coming up with new projects to keep my sewing machine busy. Am I good at it? No..but I can do just enough to get the job done:) I made these pillows for Elle's bed (all but the blue one), this skirt for Elle, this quilt top for Elle, and about fifty headbands for...Elle! I can't stop! One of my goals this year was to make a quilt and I'm so excited about it! There is no rhyme or reason to it, but I can't wait to finish it. And I did just finish these picture boards for my mom's birthday which fits under the catergory of a project...just no sewing required. Is anyone else addicted to fabric the way I am? I can't help but buy an 1/8th of yard whenever one jumps out at me! I'm in Love.

Our Leprachaun "Steve"

All growing up my family had two leprachauns named McTavish and Ike. They came every St. Patricks Day and brought us all sorts of treasures: gold rolos, Lucky Charms, Sprite, gum, gold coins etc etc. We loved going on the treasure hunt to find it and then sit and split everything up 6 ways! (You didn't end up with a ton...but that wasn't the point.) Well this year my parents wanted us to keep the tradition alive with our own kids...so they had the kids over for a treasure hunt to find their own leprachaun. They were SO excited when they finally found it..and then with the help of their dad they gave it the name "steve".( Which I'm filing a petition to change because no offense but it's just not the irish name I was picturing for rest of my children's childhood.) St. Patricks day was a success with their green waffles and milk, the treasure hunt to find their pot of gold, and with...Steve!

Happy Birthday Grandma Debbie!

We love having any reason to celebrate Grandma and all she does for us! We had a great meal and Krista and I put together a pretty fun dessert if I do say so...and I do say so:) She is very talented and I needed her helpseeing as mom is usually the one to come up with the creative desserts and it was her special day. The kids had a blast together like they usually do and I even caught that one shot of them all hugging which they totally did on their own...awwww! Happy Birthday Grandma! We LOVE you!!!!

Scrap Books Completed

For the last 5 years I've been worrying about how to do scrapbooks. When Elle was born I was pretty good to keep up on hers...until she turned one. That's where I stopped and I didn't even start Cash's. The supplies were expensive and I wasn't creative enough. After Cash was born I knew I was falling way too behind so I talked Toby into buying me a digital scrapbook kit. I loved it for awhile and still use it a ton, but after doing 10-15 pages I wanted to print them off and found out it was at least 3 dollars a page to print. Ahhh! I didn't think I'd ever get caught up...until my friend Michelle... I couldn't be more excited about her new scrapbook kits. I am now officially completed with both Elle and Cash's scrapbook! It only took about a week too. She's created these little 4X6 "scrapbooked" cards that you slide into the plastic pages where the pictures coordinate. They are SO cute. There are boy and girl one year kits and 1 to 9 year kits. The cards include all of the holidays and then things like school days, dance, the zoo, disneyland, likes and dislikes, family vacations, blank cards to write things on etc. Her website is littlemacies.blogspot.com. And the best part is the most expensive thing was just printing off the pictures. Its brilliant. And since it's a 12X12 book you can still use those plastic pages to add things like 8X10 pics or special papers etc. I LOVE it. I'm going to start using them for all my family ablums as well. And there are so many options for the book covers too but I chose the chipboard ones so I could design the front of the books to coordinate with their rooms. A HUGE load was lifted off of my shoulders when I finished these last week. I am FREE!!!:) Thanks Michelle!!!

Our Date

Ever since the Olive Garden opened at the District Elle's been asking if her and I could go on a "date" there. Now that we've done it I'm sad that we didn't do it a lot sooner...it was wonderful! We got all dressed up and headed over Saturday evening. It was a 45 min wait but that was one of the best parts. We just talked and laughed the whole time:) We sat next to each other and the whole time we were eating she just kept saying, "Mom this is the best date I've ever been on! and This is the best day of my life!" It was really sweet. One time when the server came she said, "Do you guys have birthday parties here cause this is where I want to have my 5year old birthday!" I'm picturing 6 or 7 five year olds around the table..we'll have to think on that one:) But what a fun night we had....I sure love that little girl!
