GIRLS TRIP!!!

I can't believe we actually did it! My Mom, Jamie and I all took off on a mini girl trip to Scottsdale Arizona! It all started with Jamie wanting to go there to get a picture of a cactus for her new business and that turned into her not wanting to go alone…which turned into her inviting my Mom and I…and I can not believe it actually WORKED OUT! We've just never done it before but now that we have I picture many more in the future:) The only problem was that it was just too short. We left Thursday evening and then our returning flight literally left at 6 am on Sunday morning which meant we had to wake up at like 3 in the morning because we were an hour at the airport. I feel like that left us only 2 full days. Friday and Saturday. We had soooo much to fit in! We went out to eat with Aunt Jackie and Stacie our first night there. We did lots of shopping at Target and Last Chance which is literally the best place for shoes I've ever been. I think we walked out of there with at least 4 or 5 pairs of shoes each. I think Jamie got 9!!!  We had to buy a new carry-on to get all of our stuff home. We only had a couple of hours one of the days to get some swimming in. We also made it to get our nails done and pedicures…that was pretty fun. The rest of the time we were either with Jackie taking picture or running around to a few stores and eating! We went to Shake Shack, a fun healthy place I don't remember the name haha, A juice bar called Nectar which had the best Acai bowls, and then my two favorite places was the late night dinner we had at Outback Steakhouse and then this awesome place Jamie found called Diego Pops. The owner of the place was super cool to us and took us around explaining how the place came about, then he comped our meal, took us over to his other restaurant next door, then took us back and gave us t-shirts! How sweet is that. We all had such a great time being together. I didn't love the stress of the airport and renting the car and figuring out all the adult things that Toby usually does…but it went really well and I'm glad we did it. Maybe next time we'll just go for a day or two longer:)

Utah Valley Half Marathon

This has become kind of a tradition for Toby and I. The only race we've ever run so we kind of just like sticking to what we know and running Utah Valley ever year….but this time…we just didn't feel like we could do the half marathon! For whatever reason this spring has just been sooo busy I couldn't find any time to train. We signed up for the 10K and even that I was worried about running. But it actually turned out perfect. I was able to run almost the whole time and didn't feel sick at all like I did last time running the half. We didn't even spend the night in provo this time. Just woke up at our homes and drove down. It was actually pretty awesome. Might even do it again next year. I love running with my best friend. We ran together the whole time this year and usually with the half he is way ahead of me so it was awesome. Great race!

Tate's BIRTHDAY!!!

For the longest time I've been telling this little boy I don't want him to turn 5. I just wanted him to stay my little 4 year old forever. As he big day was getting closer I think I got him all upset and worried I wasn't going to love him as much as a 5 year old. He'd get pretty worked up and even cry and say "Mom you're still going to love me when I'm 5 right?!" I'd assure him I would but I just love him so much I don't want him to grow up." Then he'd whine and cry a little more so I had to stop with that game. Gave him way too much anxiety. haha BUT I am so sad he's growing up! He is thee most incredible kid every. He brings us so much happiness and laughter…every. single. day.  - He was so excited for his birthday he could hardly wait! In fact Elle came walking downstairs the morning of his birthday around 7:30 or 8:00 to find Toby and I making his breakfast in bed and getting his presents ready. She said "Mom do you know Tate is crying?" I asked why and she said "Because he has been awake since probably 6:00 and says everyone forgot his birthday." I was dying! Guess I didn't wake up early enough for him. - He was so dang cute as we all walked in single with his breakfast on a tray. Cash asked for a bite and Tate said, "Four year old Tate would have said..no! Mine!  But 5 year old Tate will share."  hahahaha So glad Five year old Tate is so willing to share now. All he really wanted to do was go to McDonalds and Skye Park so that was pretty easy to make happen. Before that i decided to try and make Jordan's birthday special too so I took the two little boys and met my Dad and Jordan at Wingers to celebrate both of the birthday boys. I love that Tate calls Jordan his "birthday buddy." He still calls him that every time he sees him. It's hilarious.  Then we hit up McDonalds so he could get another Beanie Baby although they didn't have the penguin like he wanted..then to the park. After that we headed over to Jordan and Kristees and had a little cookout there where Grandma and Grandpa came through in the clutch with the penguin Beanie Baby. - Then the next night we all went to the BEES game where Grandpa was sneaky and got Jordan and Tate's name up on the score board. It was pretty sweet. It was super hero night so it was perfect for Tate and it was fun celebrating both of them there. They also had fireworks after which the kids loved. Pretty fun weekending celebrating my favorite 5 year old on the planet. He makes life better in every single way.

Kempers Fall

I had just been in Dr. Johnson's office with Kemp to talk about some bowel issues he was having when at the end I asked if he could hurry and look at his feet and see if his feet were going to cause any problems because he walks pretty "pigeon toed". He had him walk and said I don't think it's too bad..and then felt his hips and said it should be fine. He asked if it causes him any problems and I explained well it makes him pretty clumsy and he falls a lot. Then Dr. Johnson said he should be fine and there's nothing to worry about. - As I was walking out of the office with Tate and Kemp they both went running on ahead and so I couldn't help as I saw Kemp trip over his own feet and hit the pavement harder than I've seen in a  while. He had blood dripping out of his nose and mouth and it was on the cement and my shirt and down his shirt. The nurses even came out to see if he needed stitches but it was just a cut on the lip and in his mouth which those kind of cuts make you bleed a lot. I had to laugh that I had JUST had this conversation with Dr. Johnson. Funny Timing. But the pictures don't do it justice. He had the biggest fat lip I had seen in a while and the poor little guy totally fell asleep crying.  Broke my heart but he's still the handsomest little 2 year old I know.

Tate's Preschool Graduation

Tate has really loved his year with Ms Heather as his preschool teacher. She has done such cute things with them, art projects, field trips, songs, and worksheets. She has been so darling and he has learned so much. His preschool graduation program was so cute and it was so nice to have Grandpa and Grandma there to support him. We were dying throughout the program though because Tate was about 3 bars behind on EVERY song they sung. The whole class would finish a line and then he'd start it. They'd finish the actions just as he was starting some. It was hilarious and cute and put the biggest smile on all of our faces. He did such a great job and learned so much and we're looking forward to his next year of preschool as well.
