13 Going on 30
Today for the first time since I turned 30 somebody asked me how old I was. Do I really have to say 30?! Can't I just be 28 forever?? I was happy at 28. But the truth is...I'm even happier now. Life just gets sweeter. Having a birthday has to be one of the single best things for a girls self esteem. I can't believe how blessed I am to be surrounded by SO many wonderful friends and family who through simple text messages, phone calls, visits, cards, gifts in the mail, and actions showed me how much I matter to them. (And balloons from my Dad: red yellow pink green orange purple and blue...inside meaning) Toby...I don't even know where to start with him. He made me feel like a celebrity all week. That's what it was...a birthday week. He showered me with gifts, dates, letters, shopping trips, and more. It all started Friday when we went to Alpine for a party with his family. Kathy is amazing. She had the CUTEST sign made for me in her back yard and had the whole pool area decorated SO beautiful. We had a wonderful dinner and a fantastic time being together with them. The boys were so cute to give such thoughtful gifts and Kathy and Todd always spoil me too. LOVE my inlaws. Saturday was mine and Toby's day. First he surprised me and took me couch shopping which was HUGE for him:) Then we went to dinner which I thought was Cheesecake Factory...which would have been wonderful...but he went above that and surprised me with a night at The Melting Pot. My favorite of all time. I was SO happy! Just he and I and my favorite ever food. What we did after he left up to me. Since it wasn't our anniversary and I already had a very romantic day with him...I decided I wanted to pick up the kids from my parents and surprise them with a drive in movie...which is just what we did.We stopped and loaded up on treats then picked them up. They LOVED it! Why don't we do that more?! We watched cars two and had a blast together. I love those three. Sunday night was the night before my actual birthday so Tob let me pick the movie. I of course chose 13 going on 30. Seriously such a cute movie. And made me feel much better about my old age since 30 is flirty and thriving. Monday morning rolls around and I am awakened by quite the professional happy birthday song by Toby, Jordan, and the kids, balloons on my ceiling, a stuffed french toast breakfast and a strawberry smoothie from Starbucks. How Toby managed to take the kids and do all that before I even woke up I'll never know. It was perfect. Oh and next to my bed was an old table he found on ksl for me to refinish. Does he know me or what. A few hours later there's a knock on my door by two of my best friends. Tara and Jami had arranged for a babysitter to watch our kids and took me out to Kneaders for more of the best french toast I've ever had. And don't you worry...the fact I already had breakfast didn't stop me one bit. The breakfast and conversation was amazing. What a treat..And if that wasn't enough those two were pretty sneaky the night before and decorated my front door and garage to make sure everyone knew this year was 30 for me. I love those girls. I know this is getting long but what can I do. I have to have it all documented. The rest of the day was spent shopping with my mom...perfect...and they we met up with the rest of my fam at Gateway. We let the kids run through the fountains and then did such a fun "picture" scavenger hunt followed by a great dinner at Costa Vida. A perfect day. A perfect birthday. Then a couple days later Tiani, Lindsay, Errin, Shea, Joelle and Leslie threw a little b-day pool party for me. Couldn't imagine anything better. Thank you to everyone who made the effort to make it so special. If this is the forshadowing of what my 30's are going to be like...then bring it on!
Princess Festival 2011
While Dad and Cash had a little "boy time", Elle and I got to go on a date to the Princess Festival! I always look so forward to this time with her. She adores dressing up as a princess and getting to meet Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Rapunzel, Ariel...and so many other. Although nothing gets by Elle...they aren't the "real" princess. Those ones live at Disneyland. "These ones were just pretend"...but so fun to see anyway. I'll take any excuse to spend some time with my little princess:)

June Comings and Goings
June always seems like one of the busiest months of the year. School is getting out so there's lots of school activities, field trips, teacher gifts, and goodbyes. Dance and t-ball end with games and recitals. We had birthdays to celebrate, our half marathon, a st george vacay, I took Elle on a date to the princess festival, a bike rodeo for the kids (We taught Elle had to ride a bike that week because she was so concerned about being the only 6 year old on training wheels. Don't blame her cause she would have been:). And my Dad, Toby and I were able to take Cash to his first Bees game. It was so great just having some one on one time with him. Ronnie Price was there signing autographs and to be honest I was pretty excited that he not only remembered me from school but acted like we were pretty good friends...we were, just didn't think he's remember now that he's all famous:) He signed Cash's hat and it seriously made his week! June was BUSY! Guess that means summer has officially started! With year round school summer is so SHORT... We have A LOT to fit in in ONE month.
p.s. One night for dinner I decided to do away with any plates, or utinsils...we ate spaghetti right off the table. Had to take some pictures:) Should have got one of Toby's face cause I'm sure he thought I had temporarily lost my mind. But the kids loved it.
