Tate Starts KINDERGARTEN!!!

Now this is just blowing my mind. It's hard enough having 2 older kids in school more time than they are at home with me...but to add a 3rd?! Just about did me in. Tate will now be going to school Mon-Fri. Kemp and I are going to miss him terribly. So grateful it is only for 3 hours. He was so excited to go. He knows a few of the kids in there but they are mostly girls. We were all anxiously awaiting to hear about his first day of K. We picked him up and honestly he didn't look too happy. He waiting till he got home to tell us about his day and he cried when he did. He said he didn't have a very good first day. He went on to tell us about how he didn't make a friend the first day like Cash did, and since Cash did he was really hoping he would too. How cute is that?! We all assured him that sometimes it just takes a little bit of time and that anyone would be crazy to not want to be his friend. Then on his very own he said something like, "It's okay if I don't have friends at school because my best friends are my family and I have Cash when I get home to make me happy!" Nothing he could have said then could have made my heart happier than that! Had to snap that last picture to remember the hug he gave Cash as he said it!

Back to School!

Back at it for these 4!!! And I am not one of those mom's that is glad. Nope not one bit. I would keep them home with me all the time if I could. I love having the older two home to play with Tate and Kemp and to keep me company. It's so hard to watch them get older and go into 8th, 5th, Kindergarten and Preschool. What is happening?! Cliche as it sounds I'd do anything to slow down time.

Kemp's Accident

Well I guess its was only a matter of time. I was in my bedroom, heard a crash followed by some cries and Toby saying no no no! Not something I want to hear. I ran out there and he had Kemp in his arms with a rag on the back of his head and lots of blood. Ugh. Seriously hurts my heart. Not even 100% sure what happened. Something about him falling from the breakfast nook table to the bench. That happens numerous times a day but somehow this one cause a hole in the back of his head. We had a Dr. that lives down the street come look at it but he was taking a while and I was sure he needed stitches so I told toby lets put him in the car and let's go. The dr. pulled up as we were leaving and assured us it needed stitches. The ER actually said staples would be better. I really am not sure why but I hated the thought of staple in his head. So gross. He was so brave though. Hardly even cried. He just looked like the cutest little green ninja. The kids face timed him and of course cute Elle had helped them all make him a special sign for when he got home. These kids are just the best.

August Comings and Goings

Always love to just add a few random pictures even if I don't have a full story to tell. The first one is a date that Elle and I went on to Color Me Mine where we each painted a cute mug that we'll probably plant a succulent in:) Love spending one on one time with my girl. The other two are Tate being tate and staying up late to work on a coloring page making sure that he gets every last little detail right. He is so diligent, or stubborn, or particular, however you want to look at it. He would not go to bed till it was the way he wanted, then when I got up in the morning and walked out in the kitchen there he was still working on that same page. Bless his little heart. - Loved this picture of Tate, Kemp, Kellen playing mario cart. Then the last was a date that Toby and I took the two older kids on to dinner and shopping at the district. We pay so much attention to the two little boys that it's nice once in a while to get away and focus on the two older and their needs for a bit. They are such great kids.

Girls Trip to Market

This is such a quick fun get away that we get to do about once a year. Market comes twice a year but it's just hard to leave our families that much. It's always so fun to have Kat come with us too. We actually flew down this time. Which was great but we also were delayed on the runway like two hours so we felt like by the time we actually got there we could have driven! But it was fun. We went to market, then shopped around, ate at Cheesecake Factory, laughed till we cried and enjoyed being together. Sure love these girls.

Last Day at the LA Temple and Titos Tacos

Day 5. Always hard saying goodbye and heading home. It was Sunday so we wanted to go to the Temple and spend some time there. While we were there we met this awesome lady who has an instagram account called TempleChaser where she basically just chasing temples. Goes to as many as she can. It was pretty awesome meeting her. Now I follow her so it's fun seeing all the temples she goes to. After we took pictures we headed to the Christensens favorite stop for tacos...Titos. They were delicious. Then it was just one the road headed home! We broke up the trip and spent the night at the Kelsch's. I had to grab these picture of Toby and Cam laughing together. I love watching those two laugh at the dumbest things. Makes my heart happy. They are so good to always put us up for a night or four and we just feel right at home. - California was an awesome family trip this year. So grateful for the memories we made together. Sure wish we could do it more often. But I'll take any time I can get with these 5. They are my world.

Lego Land and San Clemente Beach

Day 4. This day was totally spontaneous and not planned! I had mentioned a few times to Toby that we should take the boys to Lego Land sometime and would this be a good time to do it. But we didn't want to spend the money at two amusement parks so we just weren't sure. Well one of the times the little boys heard me and they just did not let it go. There obsession with all things lego would just not allow them too. So go to Lego Land we did!! Again it was SUPER hot and crowded. But it was way fun to see all the things built with legos and to have that be the main theme throughout. Cash Tate and Kemp ate it up. The rides were fun but long waits, and the water park there looked so amazing but you couldn't move an inch it was so crowded. We lasted 30 minutes there then we went out to the main park. It was a fun and I'm glad we did it once but not sure we'd go back. We were there till about 3 or 4 then we headed home. On the way we stopped at San Clemente Beach for one more time at the beach since the next day was Sunday. I'm so glad we did. I just loved how much the kids loved the beach. They ran and played and we had such a good time at this beach. Problem was Toby couldn't find parking so he just waited in the car...which he was fine doing but I didn't want to be much longer than an hour or so. It was short but sweet and we were happy. Exhausted from the day so happy to head back to the hotel.
