Sand Diego!!! La Jolla!

For our summer vacation we were supposed to go to the Oregon Coast but with Covid and the fires we had to cancel it which was so sad for me. I was so looking forward to it but that’s just not the place you want to be right now. So I adjusted plans and kind of last minute begged Toby to take us to San Diego. I knew we could be careful and wear our masks and with our free gas and points to use at hotels we just went for it! I was so dang happy when he told me he booked us a hotel. We pretty much loaded the car and left the next day! We left on Thursday and came home on Sunday which really only gave us 2 full days but we made the most of those days like we always do! The first day we woke up there we went to La Jolla beach and went to check out all of the seals. Oh my gosh it was SOOO cool! I had seen pictures and heard about it but never been there myself. My kids LOVED it! Seals everywhere laying around, swimming, waddling right by you. They were so cute and the beach was just beautiful. Sure it smelled terrible but it was easy to get passed it just because everything around was just so amazing. The tide pools there were exceptional and full of cool creatures. It wasn’t a real relaxing type of beach though so we headed up the coast to find one. We passed the San Diego Temple which is one of the most beautiful temples in the world so we had to get out and take a picture. Then we went on and found Solana Beach. It was a tiny bit more crowded than I would have liked but we just went and found a little secluded area and it was perfect. The kids played in the sand, had sand creating contests, swam, ate, read, relaxed and loved being in California together. After we headed back to the hotel, got take out and watched a movie together. Perfect day.

The July 24th Holiday

Without our tradition of going to the farm we are never quite sure what we are going to do! I guess it’s time to get a new tradition! We weren’t sure whether to get together with friends or family so we decided to split the day and do some of each. Toby’s uncle Dave had invited us to come down and float the Provo River before so we thought it would be a fun day to do it. So we gave me a call and we headed down there. The stevens were doing it too but with some of their family so we went down separately but of course ran into each other and ended up doing some of it together. We floated it twice but earlier that morning Toby threw his back out so it was just me taking the kids on my own. I was nervous at first but found out quickly I didn’t need to be and did great:) It was so fun and we all loved it. After we met up at Dave’s and he cooked us all up a bunch of food and we sat on his back porch and enjoyed the view, and played with his zip line and laughed and talked. After that we headed home and opened up the pool to everyone. Stevens came by again, Ashby’s, some of my family, and Dave and his son. We cooked up some more food and roasted s’mores and watched fireworks. It really ended up being a wonderful Holiday and who knows...maybe we started a new tradition!

Hiking Pictures!

One of my favorite things to do throughout the summer! HIKE! I got a couple of my friends to wake up early with me a few mornings and do some fun hikes that weren’t too far away. Kat and I did one in Draper that lead us to the tiniest waterfall...we couldn’t stop laughing! Not what we thought we were going to see but being with her is always a good time. Another morning Tara and I took Cash, Boston, and Cecile and did a hike that we thought wasn’t going to be too long but decided to go a bit further to this waterfall and let me tell you it was SO MUCH harder than I thought. It was sooo long and such an incline..like way further up than we thought but let me tell you how dang awesome it was. The view was unreal and worth every hard step. Loved sharing that with Cash. Had so much fun together. Excited to do a few more this summer!
