Summer Fun!

We always make a summer bucket list full of things that we want to do during the summer. I think this year we did a pretty dang good job of fitting a lot of them in! We did lots of swimming, eating crepes, playing golf, Bees games, sleepovers, readathons, star gazing, homeade icecream, walks to the temple, slurpee runs, walks to the lake and food trucks etc. I think i mentioned a lot of those in my July posts but we sure had a full, busy, and fun summer. I love the bucket lists because it keeps us accountable for our time and makes sure that we aren't wasting it doing lazy things!

July 24th and Kemp's Stitches

This 24th of July was different for us too because we're usually up at the farm. The thought that it's sold and no longer ours actually makes me sick to my stomach. It weird knowing we had the day with no plans! So we talked to the Stevens and Ashbys and decided to spend the day together. The Stevens brought their slide over to the Ashbys and we just got food and treats and made a day of it over there. A couple of fun hours into it Kemp was running on their patio/cement and slipped. I hear loud crying which honestly isn't unusual for my boys at all but when I got over to him I saw he totally had a reason for it. His eyebrow above his right eye was split open. I knew immediately he'd need stitches. I actually stayed pretty calm and just swiped him up in my arms and walked him over to Toby. We got a wet wash cloth on it and drove him over to instacare. It was nice that Elle was mature and old enough to gather the other boys and walk them home and take care of them while we took care of Kemp. It took a little bit longer to stitch him up and get out of there  because he was acting so strange. He cried the whole way there but when we got to the waiting room he totally fell asleep in my arms. Which wasn't that strange considering all the energy he had expended. But when it came time to get his vital and weight he didn't wake up at all. I even transferred him back and forth from nurses and he didn't budge. Then when the dr got there and I laid him on the table he still didn't wake up. AND THEN THEY GAVE HIM THE SHOTS TO NUMB HIM and he STILL didn't wake up!!! It was crazy. He didn't even flinch. And after the Dr. finished stitching him and he still wasn't awake he started to get concerned. He was sure at that point that he had a concussion so he wanted to keep us there long enough that Kemp woke up and could eat something without throwing up. Luckily it didn't take very long before he was able to because he sure had this mama pretty nervous. The kids were so cute at home making signs for him and he came home with his slushy all smiles. I think that stitches number 5 between our 2 little boys?? Little crazies.

20th High School Reunion!

I almost didn't go to this reunion. I knew it was coming and for some reason just didn't want to put myself in an uncomfortable position to see people I haven't seen for 20 years, not remember their names, and have that weird pressure on me. But I started getting text messages from some of my highschool girlfriends and then Errin sealed the deal when she called me and said we should just go and if it's not very fun or no one is there we can just take off and do a fun girls night or something. So I conceded and went and we had the BEST time! I was so glad we went. I saw so many of my dear friends that I haven't seen for so long. My closest friends I of course still see all the time, but it was so fun to see Brianne, Tara, Sonya, Kathryn, Sara Probert, Jill Springer, Nicole Waite, some of my old ward friends, Sarah, Lora, Allison, and a lot of others I'm sure I'm missing. Plus a lot of my guy friends that have moved away and I haven't kept track of. It was a night full of reminiscing and memories and I truly enjoyed it all. Lots of laughs. I'm a pretty sentimental girl and in a way it made me a little sad. Wouldn't trade my life for anything and I would'nt go back...but they were sure good times.
