Corona Del Mar

We definitely wanted to spend the next day at the beach and last time we had so much fun at Corona Del Mar we wanted to try it again. Even though Tate thought it was a bad idea because..."you know...the coronavirus." He's so hilarious. I also wanted the kids to experience some tide pools and Little Corona has them so I thought it was the perfect beach to go. It was such a blast! Granted it was colder than I would have preferred but eventually the sun came out more and it was beautiful. We made hot tubs in the sand, Elle played her ukulele, we buried the boys, and spent some fun time exploring the tide pools. We found some pretty cool things in there including the cutest little hermit crabs. I just don't get enough beach in my life. None of us do so I'm really hoping we get to come back here soon so we can get more of it with more SUNSHINE!

DISNEYLAND Feb 2020

Well this was about the most random and wonderful last minute trip I’ve ever been on! Toby and I were going over the week with the kids and as we were discussing things we realized we really didn’t have anything. No basketball, no tennis, nothing all weekend long and Tob said hey should we head to Disneyland. Like I would EVER say no to that! A day or two later and I was packing our bags to head out. Toby booked a hotel and we worked out the dogs and it was a done deal. We drove out on a Thursday, left at a good hour, and got in to our Hotel that evening. We discussed as a family how we really wanted to try to get on the new Star Wars ride, but to be able to do that and get reservations you have to be one of the first into the park and even then it’s not even close to a sure thing. The kids didn’t care they wanted to give it a go. I was so impressed with them. I set my alarm for so early but when I got up there were all up and already ready like it was Christmas morning. We got on the first tram out and as we pulled up to Disneyland I about died! It was REALLY busy. We got through the lines and headed inside to where we needed to be to get on our phones and try to get a reservation for the ride. Don’t ask how but through a series of trying to download the right thing, and connecting our passes, and buying the fast pass extreme etc I was barely left with 2 minutes before the passes to get in became available. As soon as it turned 8:00 I started clicking on the button on my phone. If you looked around the middle of Disneyland that’s what EVERYONE was doing! It was comical. My screen started spinning and I was SO nervous. I didn’t want to let my kids down. I said a prayer and Toby told me later he did too. Then after a minute it popped up that we had a reservation as like number 67 and they only took like 75! I was DYING!!! I was so dang happy and I cheered and the kids cheered and it was just plain Awesome. Disneyland was pretty busy that day but with our Fast Passes it really was no big deal. We hit every ride that we wanted to. We spend the biggest portion of our Day at Disneyland not California Adventure which is out of the norm for us. But we went on the Matterhorn, Small World, spent time at Toon Town, Nemo...all things we hadn’t down the last few times we had been. We ate lunch as our beloved Mexican Restaurant and then got paged on our phone it was time for Star Wars Rise of the Resistance. What an incredible Experience! Pretty dang cool ride. The kids loved it and said it was totally worth it all. After that we headed to California Adventure.  Guardians was the best, so was Soaring Over California. And we ended the evening at Cars Land eating dinner there and going on the Cars ride. Honestly it was a pretty perfect day. One I’ll treasure forever. My kids are at the perfect ages. No complaining, keeping up, loving it all, no fighting. Just a completely MAGICAL day at Disneyland with the people I love most. -
With the Corona Virus starting to become a worry in the US some people probably thought we shouldn’t have gone but I wanted the chance to go one more time because who knows what will happen and we may not be able to go for awhile. Really just so grateful we did!
