Tate Got Himself Ready For Church

Maybe my favorite picture to date this year. Oh my heck. This little boy. He is everything. This morning for our home church he asks if he can get himself ready for church. I had been encouraging him to do better at dressing himself and brushing his own teeth etc so I was like ya let’s do this. Well I sat back and watched him give it his all. Buttoned his own shirt, combed his own hair, hair sprayed it all by himself, and sprayed his own cologne. I did my best to just encourage and tell him he was doing great. Which he was! How was he supposed to know he didn’t need an entire can of aerosol hairspray? Couldn’t his smile just light up the darkest night? Proud of you sweetheart!

The Kids Start School!

Well half of them that is. After much deliberation I decided on keeping my two littles home for online school. The school district gave us the option to keep our kids home because of the Covid and for a few different reasons I just really felt like keeping Tate and Kemp home and sending the older kids. It’s Elle’s sophomore year of school and it’s Cash’s 7th grade year which is a pretty big deal. Both starting new schools and heading out on a new adventure. It’s so hard for my mom heart to take. I love them so much and would do just about anything to freeze time or at least slow it down. I think that’s why I decided to keep my little’s home. Time is just going by too fast and I’m dreading the day that both of them are going to be in school full time. So for the time being I’m going to be their school teacher so wish me luck. I love them all so much it hurts.

Last Days of “Summer”

With in person school essentially ending two to three months before summer starting this was the longest summer of our lives! And I loved every second of it. Okay maybe not every second but just about. It wasn’t our typical summer being able to go out and play a bunch because of Covid but really with our new pool there wasn’t a need. We spend so many days out there! Our last few days of summer we spend watching movies, having sleepovers with the Ashby boys, playing lots of tennis, and going mini golfing. Just everything the kids wanted to do. Gearing up to start the new school year!

Elle’s Tennis Pictures

Who is this beautiful grown up young women in these pictures?! I can’t figure out how my little 4 year old who loved pigs, sang songs on que, and hated having her hair curled is this same girl. It happened in the blink of an eye. Isn’t she just gorgeous?! She has absolutely loved tennis this year and loves being part of this team. I’m so grateful for her involvement in tennis and for the friends she’s made and the coaches that have been so good to her. So far so good! Sure love these pictures!

Moonlight Beach

The next day I wanted to try out a different beach but was completely blown away by how busy San Diego beaches were! Especially during Covid, but then again we were there. Everyone did have to keep masks on until they were settled but sure didn’t seem like everyone was obeying that rule. Anyway after driving around a bit and doing some internet searching I found one called Moonlight beach and it may be one of my new favorite beaches. They had nice restrooms, the cutest little concessions building with the yummiest snow cones, and they had rentals so I was able to get the boys boogie boards that they could go out in the ocean with so it was really perfect. We found a great spot and stayed for half the day but as the day went on it just got busier and busier until we couldn’t take it! It was crazy! But we decided to drive down the coast passed Torrey pines and back to La Jolla to look for a some more tide pools and go to the souvenir shops there which we did. It was beautiful and relaxing, and the kids had so much fun. I was so glad we did this last minute spontaneous trip. The drive wasn’t bad at all, and we broke it up by a stop or two including one at the 7 magic mountains. I hope we can keep doing little trips like this to help add to all the memories we are making as a family. I am so grateful for them.
