August Goings and Comings

Just a few random pictures in August. A trip to City Creek with Jamie and her kids, a BYU game with Toby, more swimming, and the most hilarious picture of the boys in timeout. Seriously Tate's face just kills me. Look how unhappy he is! So put out. And then there is Kemp...just sitting there with a smile on his face. That's my baby.

Elle's Tryouts for Herriman High Tennis

After 8 or 9 years of dancing Elle had enough and decided to quit. We told her that was fine but that she had to choose something else. I suggested Tennis and she was willing to give it a go. I am SO happy that she did! She was about 11 or 12 when she started and she's really found something that she's loves. This year was the year that she could try out for the Herriman High Tennis team and to be honest she really didn't want to. It's super scary to put yourself out there like that and she really hasn't played very many matches before so it was very intimidating for her. There were lots of tears and times that she just said no she did't want to. But Toby and I kept encouraging her and I'm so thrilled that she went for it because she made it! It helped that the highschool recently split so not as many girls tried out as previous years but we are just so proud of her and think she's just awesome. Congratulations to the newest member of Herriman High Schools Tennis Team!!!

Back to School Dates, Blessings, and First Day of School Pics

This is such a hard time for me! I truly don't like when the kids have to go back to school. I just love having them home and the little boys love it too. It's such a fun time making memories. And when they start a new school year it breaks my heart because that just means that they are one year older. It was especially hard for me this year because Tate was entering the first grade. Ugh. That one felt like a sucker punch to the stomach. It's been the longest time that it's just been me home with the two little boys. Even when Tate had preschool or Kindergarten it was only for a couple of hours and Tate and Kemp had it opposite times so I always had one of them home. The thought of Tate being gone all day long is just awful...for Kemp too. He's going to be so dang sad and not even know what to do with himself. - I felt lucky to be able to take each of these incredible kids on our own special dates. Elle and I went up to Station Park shopping for school clothes and stuff and to Blue Lemon dinner. Cash and I went to Tj Maxx and Ross and he chose Cubby's for Lunch. Tate and I went to Bricks and Mini Figs and Target and then to Costa Vida for Dinner. Spending time with each of them individually is such a blessing and I was really grateful for it. - I was also very grateful for a husband that holds the Priesthood and could give each of my kids a blessing at the beginning of their new school year. I couldn't even stand how cute Kempy looked when he said he wanted a turn and got in the chair. Never want to forget that! Praying it will each be a great year for each of them!

Tibble Fork

This was something that I wanted to do all summer long so I'm grateful that we finally made it happen! Just our little family of 6:) We loaded up our car with towels, chairs, snacks, and of course the football and headed up to the lake! Tibble Fork is such a beautiful place because it's just surrounded by these gorgeous Pine trees and the most beautiful blue water. Honestly the sand was rough and rocky... not super soft so it was kind of hard for the kids to build sand castles and such but they made due. It was also a bit colder than I was planning but we had lots of fun talking, throwing the ball, and at the end the two boys decided to jump and dive off the dock. Next year will pick a warmer day....but we will definitely do it again! I loved the pictures we took.
