September always starts off celebrating our KEMPERS! Sept 3 is the official day and I just love the beginning of this month. We got Kemp breakfast in bed and sang to him and did all the birthday things. Tob took him on a little work trip to St George just the two of them and got I’m his favorite Crepe breakfast and spoiled him rotten. I love the beginning of September. Loving on him and feeling the weather start to change and heading up to Silver Lake as a family every year. Love it all. We had a great time with all the family walking around, taking pictures and opening presents for the September birthdays. But through it all Elle was having a little bit of hard time with Dallin so it put a little damper on things. They were supposed to hang out while she was down for the weekend and he bailed and it all kind of snowballed from there. Don’t need to go into details here but it was a very rough night for her and I am so grateful that she turned to me and that I was able to be there for her. We stayed together all night and when it was time for her to head back up to college the next day I followed her half way up and we stopped to spend some time together at Sation Park. We shopped and shopped and ate and talked and laughed and we had the BEST day together. I will always remember it.
Cash went to Homecoming with Reese and it was fun watching him and Boston get ready for the big day together. We took family pictures and even though that is usually the worst day for me I really loved how they turned out. We also said bye to Dallin. That was hard. We love that kid and have loved him being around so much. He’s been so good to Elle and so good to my boys. He’s taken such good care of her over the last year and a half. He’s such a hard worker and I know he will be an incredible missionary.
The last part of September was pretty wonderful too. I joined Toby on a work trip to BOSTON. I’ve never been there before and he’s always wanted to take me. It just worked out that I could join him for the weekend before he had to stay for another week. We had the best time! Our hotel room was INCREDIBLE. Top floor and more like a penthouse. A couple of rooms over looking the whole city. I think Toby told him we were celebrating our 20th anniversary which we kind of were.:) Right after we got there we walked a mile away to Fenway park. Bucket list item for Toby and he may or may not have had tears in his eyes and we walked up into the stadium. Also I may or may not have had the opportunity to catch a foul ball which I totally shied away from. It was such a fun ballgame and a neat experience. The next day we explored all around Boston. We walked the entire freedom trail and saw all the amazing things, the graves of Ben Franklin and other, Paul Revere’s home, the Old North Church, Bunker Hill, The site of the Boston tea party. All of it!!! So much history and I enjoyed every minute. We went to Harvard and to the Concord House. That is the house that Louisa May Alcott grew up in and Kat Stevens was the one who suggested I go there. I’m so glad we didn’t skip that place. It had a very special spirit there. I learned so much and just fell in love with it. Oh we also ate lunch at a little place in New Hampshire and had the best Clam Chowder I’ve ever had. The setting was absolutely beautiful. Tob and I also drove up to Main and explored up there. Headlight Lighthouse was super cool.- On the way home from all of this we stopped in Salem and that part I am not afraid to admit I did not care for. After being in the Concord house and feeling all the goodness there Salem was just a stark contrast. But I loved Boston, loved the food and shopping. There was a mall attached to our hotel…so ya how cool do you think I thought that was?! hahah. Then tob had to drive me to the airport and send me on my merry way. I never like leaving him but I was anxious to get back to my kiddos. It was a wonderful September.
