Disneyland 2009
Ode to Disneyland
Why do we go to Disneyland so often
It's because our hearts to soften
From watching little eyes light up
And from happy greetings from strangers saying wa sup
It's because of meeting the Princesses one by one
And even getting hugs from some
Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, and Belle
Elle feels like she knows each one so well
It's Disney's Toon Town and meeting Mickey Mouse
And getting to go through each Disney characters house
Mickey Mouses roller coaster gave us all a thrill
Both kids wanted to go on their own free will
Then there's It's a Small World After All
Doesn't matter the song gets stuck in our head all day...we still have a ball
The Tea Cups go round and round
Glad Cash can go even though he only weighs 10 pounds
The Matterhorn is one of a kind
Once you're in there what do you find?
An abominable snow man Dad said for Elle he'd punch in the face
Not sure he had time...we were going such a fast pace
If you would have seen Cash when he saw Winnie the Pooh
You couldn't have helped your heart melt too
The excitment that showed so much in their eyes
Was worth more than any money or prize
Thank goodness for Julie letting us on the Splash Mountain ride
Some of those workers have too much pride
But most were happy and fun helped us from going crazy till waiting in line was done
"Yo HO Yo HO It's a Pirates life for me"
The Downs can't get enough of Jack Sparrow and Mister Shmee
So once the rides are over and done
To the back of the line is where we all run
California Adventure is such a great addition
to hit all the rides there is our next mission
Playhouse Disney for the kids is the best
Nice for us parents too...gives us a rest
Cash's eyes did not once blink
During the entire ride Monsters Inc
California Screamin did just that
Made me scream while in my seat I sat
Soarin Over California plays with your mind
but unfortunately this trip time was hard to find
Tower of Terror is always my fav
Ask me about it and I'll rant and rave
Elle chooses to never go on that ride again
At least not till she turns 9 or 10
So you see that is why we go to Disneyland so much
The Fireworks, Parades, and Rides gives us all a rush
We hope the Magic will go on and last
And that next time we get to go will come so fast
Disneyland is the Happiest place on Earth I hear
We all agree with them year after year!
(It was a long drive home :)

The Famous Preston Night Rodeo 2009
I think the first post I ever blogged about was the Famous Preston Night Rodeo 2 or 3 years ago. I think I can safely say this is one of my favorite family traditions ever. Eating at Aunt Connies, the parade, rodeo, and the carnival....we LOVE it. This year during the parade a little cart went by with a spiderman blow up doll on it and Cash just started running after it (if you call that running) and saying, "spider man spider man!" (except not as clear as that) I just laughed but thought 'sorry not this time.' But Grandpa couldn't resist and a minute later Cash had his spiderman and didn't let go of it the rest of the night. Then we get to the carnival and Elle sees this pink Care Bear 3 times her size and says "Dad will you win that for me?" There was no way Toby wasn't going to get that for her and after his second try on the basketball hoops...first shot and he was able to hand Elle her bear....my kids aren't spoiled at all. Tob got taken by the carni folk after that but we won't go there. We LOVE Preston and are already itchin for the tree hunt!

The 24th of July!!!
My Grandma Wimmer shares a birthday with Utah so it gives us an extra excuse to celebrate! We all met at the farm to honor my Grandma and we had a wonderful time visiting, eating, playing in the dirt and pool...which explains why Elle looked like this as we pulled away. (Both the dirt and the tears) Elle and Cash LOVE it and there are always lots of tears as we try to leave. That night we went to the Simmons family reunion and had a great time seeing more family. I was so excited to be able to attend the Collin Raye concert at the Scera Park where the reunion was being held because I LOVE him! I've always loved his music and it was so fun to see him live. We just threw out a blanket on the grass and let the kids dance the night away. All the people around us were too busy laughing at Elle and Cash to watch Colling Raye:) I love days like this!
