Thanksgiving and the Tree Hunt

Another year another tree hunt. I sure hope we never stop doing this. Year and year after year I write the same thing. How much this tradition means to me. I love seeing all of my aunts and uncles and cousins and spending time together up in Preston Idaho. Nothing else like it. And bonus, we found our trees super fast this year and beat most of the Wimmers back to the church for soup:)

It was Kathys year for Thanksgiving so we enjoyed our year eating at the Christensen’s. The only bummer was that I TOTALLY blew it and sat my sweet potatoes on top of our stove to cool down that morning not realizing that I left the burner on for something else I had been cooking. I can’t believe I did that. I heard a boom and looked over and the pan completely exploded. Like EXPLODED. My nice beautiful 9 x 13 pan we have had since we got married. I was devastated and the potatoes were of course ruined. BUT I had had the feeling the day or two before to add some extra sweet potatoes, marshmallows and evaporated milk to my grocery order just in case I needed an extra pan of sweet potatoe casserole. Which why would I need that?! Isn’t that amazing. I was able to hurry and whip up another batch and it all worked out okay. Grateful that Heavenly Father is mindful of me even in the small things of life. So much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving.

Also Tate made us this incredible apple pie at activity days and honestly it was one of the best apple pies I have ever tasted. He was so proud…as well he should be!!!
