Science Project 2014

I fear this is the first of many Science Fair projects to come. But actually I don't know why I should fear. I had NOTHING to do with this one. Probably because it was optional so I wasn't sure why Elle really wanted to do it in the first place, but it shouldn't surprise me because she is just like her Dad. Which is why Dad said "Of course you can do it" and "I'll help you and yes you can do it on a fish and a mirror." What?! Fine. This is all you two. So he bought her a fish. And observed the fish with a mirror for over a month. And then the night before worked like crazy to put the whole poster together. I'll admit it was a little difficult for me to let her take creative license on this one...but she did it great job and it touched my heart to see Toby work so diligently with her on this. She just kept thanking him over and over and i'll be honest some guilt set in that I originally said No and that I wouldn't help. Toby was so willingly to put in the time and effort to do it. He is constantly being an example to me. Love them both with all my heart.

NOOOOO!!!!

It was time. Actually it was past time. Probably way past time. But I couldn't help it. I did NOT want to cut his hair. I knew it make him look way too grown up.  I previously had to trim the back because lets be honest I didn't want him to look like a girl. But taking him for a full on hair cut. That was hard for me. But I didn't want him looking like a little homeless kid either. Thank goodness Cookie Cutters had a bubble guppies movie or we would have been in big trouble. Elle blowing bubbles and the sucker and balloon helped as well. He wasn't very happy about it. He seemed pretty put out the whole time. He didn't look too different. Just enough that he looks cleaned up and cute as ever.

Happy St. Patty's Day 2014

I had been feeling pretty sick so I was concerned I hadn't been able to contact our Leprachaun Steve to make sure he was going to make it to the Christensen's house this year. But no need to fret he made it just in the nick of time and even did his traditional treasure hunt for the kids. For whatever reason he forgot or couldn't find rolos this year and Tob and I found it quite funny that that was the first thing the kids mentioned when they found the treasure. We were just happy he came at all. And one picture of Tate just because he's ridiculously cute.

BYU Football Banquet

Toby was once again so honored to be asked to accept the Alumni Award for the BYU football team on Todd's behalf and the banquet. I couldn't believe it had been 10 years since I went to Toby's senior banquet. Toby felt a lot of pressure to give a good speech on Todd's behalf and to be honest I hadn't seen him that nervous in a long time. But he had no reason to be. He did an absolutely beautiful job and I know Todd was so proud. The food was wonderful although I was feeling pretty nauseous that night and my poor mother had her esophogus stretched that day and couldn't eat a thing. We had to take a picture of it so we could at least dream about the wonderful food. It was nice to be with there with Kathy, some of her siblings, my parents and Toby and again remember Todd. We miss him dearly.

FROZEN IN TIME

It was the perfect theme to celebrate my most wonderful Mothers 60th birthday party. Can you believe she's 60??!? Sorry mom but that sounds so old. At least you don't look it. Or act it for that matter. I've said it a million times and I'll say it again...she is absolutely the most selfless person I have ever known. She is constantly thinking of others and putting everyone around her first. How grateful I am for her example. Her and her mother are the most Christlike women I have ever known. We decorated the house in all things "Frozen" and had the cutest pictures of her and Doug as babies sat around. We had blue and white balloons and Krista made some amazing snowflakes and colored popcorn, and we served snowflake cut out cheese and crackers and "ice cube" jello, frozen blue drinks and all sorts of fun stuff. Tessa and the rest of us worked for two weeks on a photo book all about her and her life and it turned out absolutely beautiful. Then Josh put together a video that was similar to the book...just pictures put to music of mom's life and it was so amazing. We cried.  It's so easy to do all of this for her when she does it for each of us ALL the TIME. Love you a million Mom. Happy Happy BiRtHdAy!!!!!

TRAFALGA

So with only days left of our beloved off track time we had to make sure we also fit in at least one trip to waffle love and trafalga. I was bummed Toby couldn't make it but also do treasure the time it's just me and my kids. They are best little friends and I love watching their faces light up and have so much fun. They went on all the rides, played tons of arcade games, mini bowled, and even did a game of laser tag all by themselves since I had to stay back with Tate. We ate snacks and dippin dots and promised to come back real soon. Isn't Tate's smile just the cutest. He makes us all so happy.

St George

I wonder how many blog posts I've entitled "St George"? We can't get enough of this place. ANY time the kids go off track we have to make a trip down there even if it's only for a day or two. We look so forward to our time with the Kelsch's and the warmer weather.  While we were there we decided to take the kids to "The Lego Movie" and I wish I could have got a better shot of the row of kids. We had TEN kids all sitting in a row with their drinks, treats, and popcorn and it was just so cute. Of course I spent most of the time out in the lobby with Tate but I love that our kids get to be with the Kelsch kids and just play play play outside. It's so good for them and I look forward to the day that we have a nice back yard that they can just live out there. Tate was so happy outside. Bring on the sunshine!
