The Vegas Bowl!

Yet another quick weekend Getaway! When they announced that BYU would be playing Utah in the Vegas bowl we knew it'd be hard to get tickets but Toby has all the hookups:) He got tickets for some guys in the ward and some of his friends but felt like he should go too since they were put in his name under will call. The same group that was going to the Rose bowl was going here and since it was just a 6 hour drive we wanted to go too. This time we got Lindzee to come stay here and take care of the kids. We were only gone 2 nights so it wasn't too bad. We met up with Errin and Brandon, Lindsay and Sage in St. George and ate at Cafe Allure…then drove on to our hotel…Trump Tower. It was a super nice hotel. And bonus it was right across from one of the biggest malls in Vegas! So of course we headed over there for some shopping. After that we went to the "BYU vs Utah party" at Fremont street and while it was cool to see it was honestly pretty lame and we were starving so we didn't stay too long. We wanted to find a good buffet and Lindsay had been to one she loved so we went there. Imagine our surprise when it was $60 dollars a plate! I almost died…we all did. BUT let me tell you it was some of the best food I've every had. Everything was so cute and in their own individual cups and plates and they had food of every kind. Steak, shrimp, crab legs, lobster, salads, sushi, pot roast, prime rib, potatoes, vegetable, gelato everything!!! We completely stuffed ourselves. Like sat and ate for over 3 hours kind of stuff ourselves. I had like 4 servings of gelato. It was delicious. Then just headed back to our hotel. And heres where the kicker happens. We're heading back up to our room…just toby and I on the elevator…when it stops. Before we reach our floor. Then goes down one. Then another. I started to get nervous. Then it goes back up and then just stops. 56 but our floor was 58. And the door doesn't open. We pushed the call button and someone comes over the speaker asking if we are okay. We say yep and they tell us they have someone on their way to help us. We were there FOR OVER AN HOUR. What?! When does that happen?? I couldn't believe it. We laughed a ton and overall it was kind of funny but so random and when we finally get off the elevator they hand us two water bottles and tell us they are sorry. Okay?? So weird. Toby talked them into a Trump Robe and a free breakfast but I think we should have gotten more. Anyway just went to bed after that. Next morning we got our free breakfast and headed to the game! - We hung out with our friends there, ran into JD, Justin, and Johnny Wimmer, Scott Sowby, Stevens, and a few more friends. WORST 1st QUARTER of a game I've EVER seen. So bad that Toby and I got up and left. It was that bad. We just got in the car, drove to get lunch, and headed home to our kids. We didn't end up losing by that much but when it was like 37 - 0 in the first quarter with us turning over the ball like 6 times it was all we could take. Plus I didn't want to drive in the dark and we knew there would be a ton of traffic and there was supposed to be snow storm the next morning. I LOVE Toby. We have so much fun together. Even though the reason we went turned out to be a bust being alone with him was wonderful.
