Cannon Beach!

Our first night in Cannon Beach was awesome. We only had a few hours of daylight so we drove first to Ecola State Park and looked over Indian Beach. That’s where some of twilight was filmed. Driving through the windy roads I felt like I was right in the middle of a Star Wars movie in Endor where the Ewoks lived. Ferns and the craziest big trees I’ve ever seen. Never experienced anything like it before. Then we drove down to Indian Beach and let the kids play in the sand and water for awhile. We went and looked through all of the tide pools and just enjoyed the beautiful weather and scenery. It was just awesome. Then we headed back to Cannon Beach and went out and explored the tide pools there. They were Magnificent! I was so hoping to find some sand dollars and some star fish and we found both! I don’t know how to put into words was the sunset looked like that night. None of us could stop taking pictures. That haystack rock against the water was just completely unreal. Breathtaking. We ate dinner at a restaurant right there on the corner and honestly the clam chowder was amazing but the wait was unreal and too expensive but I loved being there with my family. It was the best night. The next morning we all wanted to take some family pictures there so that’s just what we did. We all got ready and wanted it to be quick so we hurried out there and each took turns as quickly as we could. We didn’t want it to cut into our day much! We had way too much to explore! The pictures all turned out beautiful though! My favorite ones we’ve ever taken. Then we walked through that little beach town and shopped some shops and ate at the cutest little restaurant called Pigs and Pancakes. It made us feel like we were eating in a big tree house. After that we drove to a different beach called Hug Point and Arcadia Beach. And it was the coolest place ever! We searched and found around this bend a little secluded place with it’s own little waterfall and cave and we stayed there for hours playing in the water and sand... the kids were in absolute HEAVEN. We went home to regroup and while we did that Tob took the boys and took a dip in the pool right there. After that we wanted one more night in Cannon Beach so we went back there and went back to the tide pools and then had a fire pit on the beach! Toby went and got us taco bell and we roasted marshmallows and s’mores. Perfect evening for our last night in Cannon Beach!!!
