We almost didn’t make it this year! Kept putting it off because of schedules and weather. But alas we decided to make this Sunday work. We got up there late and it was already a little cold so we didn’t plan a full on picnic. Not everyone even came up. But because of that we ended up hiking up a ways past our normal walk. We hiked up to the lake up above Silver Lake. It was absolutely beautiful. A little further than we were planning but that made for some good memories. The kids were exhausted but proud of themselves for doing it. And honestly on the way down I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so beautiful. The trees and mountains looked like a painting. It was incredible.
