February

Good times in February! We started off with a bang celebrating Grandma Kathy’s birthday! We got her a Barefoot Dreams robe like she got me for Christmas and she loved it. We also celebrated Josh and Jace’s birthdays since we were gone on a cruise when they happened.

Tate pulled out his own tooth and it totally freaked him out so that’s what that picture is about. He’s the cutest.

Elle and Taygen went to the Sweethearts Dance with Jackson together because Dallin was out of town in Alaska. They had the funnest time so I’m glad they did that.

Cash got his braces off which was a HUGE DEAL because they had been on forever and every single time we went in for a check up they would tell him one or two more months and he was just dying. So I’m really really happy for him! He looks so grown up and so handsome!

The Steven’s, Ashby’s, and us went to the Melting Pot for Valentines Dinner together and of course we laughed and talked and laughed and talked and had a wonderful time together. I love those guys so much.

We also had a snow storm like no other. Seriously SO MUCH SNOW. Turned into a snow day for the kids but I didn’t want to go anywhere. The snow was as high as I’ve ever seen! The problem was it happened to come on the Nationals Competition for DECA. Elle and her team had worked TIRELESSLY for 6 months on their project and they got to compete the day before but her and Dallin and Taygen, Jackson and JD could not get up to Layton where they would find out if they won. They were devastated and Tob and I just didn’t feel like we could safely get them there. They were all so sad and just trying to figure out what to do. With Elle being the State DECA President she was supposed to be there to be on stage and introduce everyone. The buses from Herriman couldn’t get up there either. I happened to be talking to Josh  that day about something and I told him what was going on. Within a few minutes he had contacted Elle and arranged to pick them all up in his truck and get them up to the conference center. It was amazing! Those kids were all so dang happy. He totally was an answer to their prayers and got them there with just enough time for Elle to run straight to the stage, with her Jordan’s on, and introduce and welcome everyone! I was sad to not be there but Josh said it was incredible. A couple of hours later we watched through zoom as JD, Taygen, and Dallin won. I was beyond happy for those 3 but was kind of dying worrying about it Elle’s team had made it. Because if she didn’t her three best friends were goin to Disney World without her! But 30 minutes later…they were announcing the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place for Elle’s category and the first two didn’t call her name…but then for the first place award…they called her name! And I wanted to cry. And actually I did. I was so incredibly happy for her. She had worked so hard!!! We all just jumped up and down and screamed and cried and it was just an awesome moment. We were all so grateful for Josh. He really jumped in and saved the day and it just wouldn’t have been the same if she couldn’t have been there. Very very thankful for my family.

Another February event that happened was poor Tate getting his 3rd set of stitches on his face. It was the saddest thing ever. He was playing with some friends in the basement and they were running around playing tag or something and he tripped over something and hit his head on a barbell. Popped his forehead right open. He cried and cried but not because it hurt…because he felt so bad. He just felt dumb and didn’t want another scar on his forehead. But overall he was so brave and we were both happy Toby was there to calm us down and help. Poor kid wore a hat to school the next few days. He had so much support from friends and family. Lots of cards, milk shakes, and well wishes. He is so very loved!
