June started off with a bang with Elle’s graduation. How on earth I have a child old enough to graduate Highschool is beyond me. I swear that was just me sitting in the crowd of my peers waiting for my name to be called. The whole week up leading up to it was amazing and so fun. Parades, Senior Sunrises, and the night of graduation we had a big pickle ball party and we had such a fun night helping to chaperone that. Then it was time to celebrate Tate’s birthday! Al took him on a special date, just the two of them to play tennis and to the movie Spider-Man. I took him his friend Lawson and Jace and Kemp out to eat at Rio açai and they had a pool party at our house. They are the cutest friends and had so much fun! That night our family took him along with Dallin to Costa Vida for dinner. He was so funny, he didn’t take off the happy birthday hat all night long even wore it into the restaurant. After that we headed to Hodges wedding which he was so confused he had to go to on his birthday ha ha ! But we made it quick and then got straight in the car to head to Preston, Idaho, where we celebrated his birthday and Jordans together. Birthday buddies for life! We did make a quick stop at grandma and grandpa Christensen‘s graves which he always loves to talk about them and remember them. So sweet. The rest of the dances drove up in the morning and we went to a fun, fish hatchery pond and did some fishing. Tate got a little frustrated that it wasn’t easy for him to catch a fish, but with help from Josh and persistence he finally was able to get one. It was fun to see him succeed. That afternoon We had a picnic at our beloved Honeyhill. Uncle Ed and aunt Connie were so gracious to host and let us all enjoy Preston Idaho together we went four wheeling and shotguns and picked wildflowers. So pretty much I was in heaven. I diet that picture of uncle Ed and my dad passed out sleeping by each other in their lazy boy recliners. I guess that’s what hanging out looks like for them these days. Hahahah.
The middle of June was filled with lazy days, walks around the lake, trips to the movie, theater, young men’s camps, Toby running a full on Marthon!, swimming, and celebrating Father’s Day with the best dad in the world. My kids really lucked out having Toby is their dad. He’s not just a good one. He’s exceptional. We also took a trip down to St. George and enjoyed the condo swam ate crêpes and played tennis. We can never get enough of that place. We went to the Herriman Day parade and carnival and the kids absolutely love that. I also started a little tradition that I wanted to do through the summer with my kids and that’s taking them to as many temples as I could. Just unlike Sunday afternoon, we have a free afternoon here and there. And I’m so grateful the kids didn’t argue and went along with it and I think they ended up loving it hit actually made quite a few of them including Draper, Jordan River, Taylorsville, Saratoga springs, and of course Oak Mountain and then we hit more in July.
I took the boys to city Creek shopping and had the funnest day just the three of us we even went to a little museum that had pictures and stories of grandpa Todd. We also met up with Tory at his office and he got us some fun, candy, and drinks love spending time with my boys. We also spent June looking for a place for Elle to live up at Utah State. After doing a lot of research, I found a place that was just off-campus but that also had a kitchen for her so that she would be able to cook since she has celiac disease actually really felt good about the place, it was just across the street from campus. We went up to check it out and had the funnest day together talking about what college is going to be like for her and going to the gift store and getting Aggie ice cream together and checking 800 Block out. I’m so excited for her.
Last of all the boys got to get together and sell some golf balls, which is one of their favorite things to do in the summer. All in all I would say June was very successful.
