July

July started out with cash leaving to go on trek. Wish that it could’ve been a year the L and him could have gone together, but he still had a wonderful time and learned a lot. He got home right in time for the fourth. This Fourth of July was a tiny bit different. Usually I’m overwhelmed by how many people are there But not as many could make it this year. It seemed a lot more low-key and I enjoyed it a little bit more than normal. I loved all my family together, though, and watching the fireworks from the fire pit is always so magical.

Elle really wanted to go through the open house of The Saratoga Springs Temple. It was so cute how much she wanted to do it. I was so happy to make that happen for. And let me tell you what we were not disappointed! Easily one of the most beautiful temples I’ve ever seen. The inside was absolutely beautiful! it was decorated with the most beautiful colors and the most stunning artwork. I think I’ve ever seen. There were such a spirit there and every single one of us felt it. We couldn’t stop talking about it. It was such a fun day.

We also had outdoor movies in the backyard. We went hiking with the Ashby’s and we did more temple visits. We hit Pleasant Grove, Timpanogas, Provo before it got knocked to the ground to be redone, and Provo City Center and Orem. The temple that was right next to Toby and mine’s first condo. I think Elle liked that one the very most. It was fun to have Dallin with us for all of these Temple Visits. He really just feels like part of the family. The boys love him and I think Elle is pretty fond of him as well.

Next step was my birthday! I always feel so spoiled. Toby is willing to do anything that I want on my birthday. And what I really wanted to do was go hiking. We’ve done that for the past three or four years so it’s kind of turned into a tradition, but we’ve usually done different places and this time I wanted to do donut Falls I think this is what we’ll do from here on out. It was so fun! Josh and the girls and Jamie and her kids join us and Dallin! It was perfect weather, and we just laughed and had such a great time. Afterwards, we went to the porcupine Grill and ate the biggest plate of nachos. I’ve ever seen ended the night at the fire pit with Grandma and Grandpa and everyone I would say it was pretty close to perfect, the next night took me to an outdoor concert which is one of my favorite things to do in the summer. It was Air Supply and honestly they still sound amazing! We just threw out a blanket and enjoyed the beautiful music!
And the fun for me just kept on going! Seriously it almost felt like the birthday that never ended and even though this wasn’t for my birthday, I count it because it was the same week :-) Me,  Elle, Taygen,  and Sophie and their moms Tyra and Angie all hopped on a plane and headed to Disneyland for their Senior Trip. I love that they either let or wanted us moms to go! We joke that maybe they just needed us to cover the cost and get them a hotel room and rental car but whatever the reason I don’t really care! It was amazing and I loved every second of it. It was the easiest most fun trip of shopping, eating out, going to the beach and hitting Disneyland and California Adventure together. Seriously I couldn’t be more grateful for the memories I got to make with her those 3 or 4 days. Priceless to me. And just being able to run around Disneyland with no strollers and feeling carefree and getting on so many rides so quickly and eating at all the fun places was just amazing. We really loved it! Grateful for these friends of Elle’s and their wonderful Moms.
We also had the Downs family golf tournament and Elle and Dallin got to participate in it so that was fun to have them with them. And then celebrated the 24th of July at Glenmoor with food trucks, competitions, face painting, and of course FIREWORKS!
Next was the Preston Parade and Rodeo weekend! This year we went camping Thursday night up at Albert Moser with Josh and the girls and Dallin came with us. Elle absolutely loved having him up there I’m sure. We stopped at Mantua and the reservoir, then we went to the funnest pizza place and got the best gluten free pizza then headed straight to the Moser’s. We rode the 4 wheelers again and went to the reservoir and then got ready to head to the parade. It was hot as heck but the kids love all the fun things they throw out and all the loads of candy. After that we headed to the campsite where Josh and Melanie were making a bunch of tin foil dinners for everyone. Dallin and Cash slept together in a tiny little 2 man tent and I die laughing every time I think about it. Early in the morning after we were all getting up and cleaning up camp elle started to crawl in to say good morning to him and he shooed her out so fast saying “what are you doing?! Get out of my tent….” Hahahah. I will laugh about that moment the rest of my life. Had to be there though I’m sure. We went on a little hike and Uncle Ed brought my dad up and joined us. Loved our time together in one of my favorite places on earth. Preston Idaho. And just like that July was over.
