Obviously this Thanksgiving was a little different for us this year. Not only was it Thanksgiving, a week after Todd passed, but it was also Todd and Kathy's anniversary. I can only imagine how Kathy was feeling. We weren't sure how to do Thanksgiving, neither of us felt like cooking much so we weren't sure whether we should go out to dinner, have it catered, go to someone's house or what...but after much deliberating both Kath and I decided that we could do it together. So that's what we did! And it turned out just lovely. It was so nice to be in that home together. It was a wonderful meal, we had a wonderful time watching home videos and going through pictures of Todd, and it was just really peaceful and relaxing. Of course tears were shed and it was difficult setting a place for him at the table and feeling the emptiness there, but we were together and had much to be grateful for. After Kathy's later that night we loaded the kids in the car and took off to Logan. This year we thought it would be fun to spend the night there to make it easier to get Christmas trees in the morning. NEW TRADITION! We had such a good time! We stopped by Joel and Tessas to do some "first Christmas gifts" and play games and eat and let the kids play...then we just went back to the hotel and watched movies. I love my little family. Getting trees this year was comparitively easy other than Tate wanting to be in the snow but kept face planting it. The Wimmer Christmas party was a success again...one of my favorites of the whole year. One thing we will never forget is Tate on the mic. Someone left the microphone on the ground and everyone, especially Toby, got such a kick out of Taters picking up and loving the sound of his voice in the mic. Pretty cute. All in all it was a great Thanksgiving and again just feeling very grateful for so much.
