Sawyer Funeral and Preston Parade and Carnival

This is a hard one to talk about. No words to describe the events that have happened in my dear friend Lindsays family. While we were headed to the beach in California I got a phone call from Errin and I knew right away something was very wrong. She was anything but calm and started to tell me how she had gotten word from Joelle through Shannon Sawyer that 5 members of her family had been killed in a horrific car accident on I15 as the family was heading home from their family trip. I could barely believe what I was hearing. This is Lindsays husband Sage’s family. His brother, his brothers wife, and 3 of their nieces and nephews. Since getting the news it’s been an absolute nightmare. We haven’t even known how to console Lindsay. Our hearts just ache for the pain and incredible loss they are experiencing. Going to those funerals will be something that. I will never forget. So much pain for one family. Lindsay and Sage have been doing whatever they possibly can to keep their family together and support them and I know it’s taking an incredible toll on them. Really there are just no words. I am so grateful for the knowledge that Families are Forever. I’m praying they rely on our Savior to help them navigate through this incredible tragedy. We’ve done whatever we can to stand by Lindsay but it’s hard to know what to do. We attended the funeral before we we headed up to Preston Idaho for the parade and carnival.

Of course the parade was as awesome as ever but I don’t think we’ll be going to the carnival again. It has just turned so trashy and it smelled horrible the entire time. We may just have to go to the one in South Jordan and hope it’s better than this one has become. But the kids scored bags full of candy and of course all sort of other item being thrown like milk, frisbees, t shirts, toilet paper, mugs and whatever else Preston can come up with. Hahaha
